The Surgery remains open for appointments, collection of medication and prescriptions.  For other medical needs please contact the surgery by telephone and your health needs will be assessed.

Covid-19 Vaccine: Vaccines will be offered to those most at risk from Covid-19.  People at highest risk and who have been informed they are clinically vulnerable will then be prioritised followed by the rest of the population, who will be offered the vaccine and boosters in a phased approach.

The Covid vaccination is being provided by trained NHS staff, there is no charge and we will not ask you for any payment or for your bank details.

Here at Middlestown Medical Centre the team take pride in offering the highest standard of access and patient-centred health care. We run many clinics for chronic disease care and offer a wide variety of other medical services such as antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations, Well Woman and NHS Health Checks.  We trust we offer the best possible access to all our patients including those with physical and mental disabilities and for people with other communication needs.  The practice is accessible for Disabled patients and disability parking is also available.  

We are keeping your details safe and we have updated our Privacy Policy in line with the requirements set out in the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).  An Additional COVID-19 Privacy Notice will run alongside the practice Privacy Policy.

Appointments are pre-bookable up to 12 weeks in advance. We will try to meet your needs where it is possible, sometimes there is a longer waiting time if you ask for a specific clinician. To book appointments telephone 01924 237100 selecting option 1 for appointments, visits and referrals. Don’t forget you can also book appointments online and cancel them 24/7. Please ask the receptionist for more information.

We operate a daily call back service. (Monday to Friday.)

When you contact the surgery the receptionist will take your name, address and contact telephone number and will also ask for a brief description of why you want the appointment with the doctor or nurse, (this information is optional) but it helps the clinicians that may ring you to prioritise the telephone calls and is very helpful.

As a dispensing practice we are able to dispense medications to patients from Flockton, Emley and Grange Moor only. All other patients can collect prescriptions and take to a pharmacy of choice or patients can nominate a pharmacy of choice for their prescription to be collected by the pharmacy or sent electronically.  

Pharmacies are no longer able to order repeat medications.  Repeat medication must now be ordered by patients and there are a number of ways you can do this:

  • Contact the practice dispensary team on 01924 237106 (open Monday to Friday 08:30 - 18:00 and Saturday 08:00 - 12:00)  
  • Pre-order the medications you need on the last prescription and hand in to reception.

  • Online via SystmOnline

For those on authorised repeat medication you can order online via SystmOnline, see receptionist to get your access information, bringing 2 sets of identification with you.  Online repeat medications can be requested up to 10 days in advance.  However, medications are generally on a 28 day cycle and advanced requests will only be available for collection from the practice dispensary or your nominated pharmacy 28 days following the collection of your previous medication.  

For urgent or emergency medication during normal opening hours please contact the practice on 01924 237100.  If the practice is closed please call 111 and you will be directed to the West Yorkshire Pharmacy Urgent Repeat Medication (PURM) Service.
